| Support For Borderline Personalities & more... |
| Name: | bpdsupport |
| About | Hello everyone!
This community is here to support people with Borderline Personality Disorder, and anyone who is close to someone who has the disorder. Everyone is welcome here, even if you do not have BPD and just want to know more!
Hopefully this will become a place where people can share their experiences, be themselves, and not be afraid of predjudice. I only ask that if you are posting about anything triggering (cutting etc), then please place it behind a DJ cut. (You can find out how to do that by clicking here).
I've started this community because there is no other on DJ (to my knowledge) offering support with this disorder. Everyone has difficulties coping, and sometimes even the smallest thing can make life a little easier. There is hope! xxNote: If you have any idea's or information you'd like to contribute to this community, then please JOIN and post, or E-mail me! My DJ username is January27. Symptoms of BPD:
1) Frantic efforts to avoid real or imagined abandonment. 2) A pattern of unstable and intense interpersonal relationships characterized by alternating between extremes of idealization and devaluation. 3) Identity disturbance: markedly and persistently unstable self-image or sense of self. 4) Impulsivity in at least two areas that are potentially self-damaging (e.g., spending, sex, substance abuse, reckless driving, binge eating) recurrent suicidal behavior, gestures, or threats, or self-mutilating behavior. 5) Affective instability due to a marked reactivity of mood (e.g., intense episodic dysphoria, irritability, or anxiety usually lasting a few hours and only rarely more than a few days). 6) Chronic feelings of emptiness. 7) Inappropriate, intense anger or difficulty controlling anger (e.g., frequent displays of temper, constant anger, recurrent physical fights). 8) Transient, stress-related paranoid ideation or severe dissociative symptoms.
